Description

In the early 1900s many Japanese baseball teams were formed with Florin's Athletic Club being one of the first established in 1914. In 1923 an all Japanese baseball league was formed with teams from San Francisco and the central valley. One of the teams was the Isleton Athletic Club baseball team and they would play against other teams in the area. Throughout the 1920s and 30s Northern California had a very active Japanese baseball league until the start of World War II and the internment of Japanese Americans forced many of these teams to disband and form new teams in the camps. After the war new teams and leagues were formed.
